    Hi,

I’ve just started a new website build, and one of the first things I did was try to install sportpress. I got a 500 internal server error.

I’ve tried installing a few times through the wordpress store and also tried manually via FTP. The main reason I’m so perplexed is because the site hardly has anything on it other than a sportmag theme (which is said to be compatible).

If anyone has any idea where I should look for errors, that would be great.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi!

Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry for the trouble.

The first thing I’d test is enabling twenty sixteen just to be sure. Maybe it’s a new conflict that the theme authors aren’t aware of.

Also, do you have access to your error logs? A ton of things could cause a 500 error, but if we could see the exact error message / code line that would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for the response!

I actually just figured it out ??

I’m still new to wordpress so I blindly trusted the little sign on the plugin installation window claiming compatibility with my theme – but it isn’t. Switched themes and back on the road!

    Thanks again!
