Unable to install

    I have an entirely clean wordpress installation (i.e. all other plugins have been uninstalled). I’ve attempted to install this plugin while having 3 different themes (2017, 2016 & 2014) activated. Every time I get the following error and have to use my cPanel file manager to delete the plug in so I can access either my site or it’s dashboard.
    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in (my site)/wp-content/plugins/buddyforms/includes/wp-insert-user.php on line 26

    I figured it out. It was being caused by an old incompatible PHP version. I updated my PHP to 5.6 and it’s working fine now.
