    Hello,

I’m facing issues on a clients website being able to connect to an existing Google Merchant Centre account.

I’m attempting to setup the Google Listings & Ads for WooCoomerce. I’ve linked the WordPress.com account through Jetpack, and Google account. However, when I click the ‘Connect’ button next to the ‘Select an existing account’ I get the following error:

Unable to insert site verification: The necessary verification token could not be found on your site.

I’ve tried following some of the steps of other topics where people have experienced this issue but I’m still receiving the same error.

Please could anyone advise on some steps I can take to try and rectify this issue?

    Thanks, Joe

  • Hi Joe,

I understand that you’re experiencing an issue connecting your client’s website to the Google Merchant Center account, and tried some steps already.

Could you please ensure that you’ve followed the steps here?

Also, please note that if the website is in coming soon/maintenance status, it might prevent access to your website and can lead to issues with the site verification. I suggest disabling it temporarily and then trying again if that’s the case.

I hope this helps! Let us know some updates. Thanks!
