I am using a plugin called Amazon Product Importer to import products from Amazon. It also requires the user to download an extension (on Google Chrome) called Advanced Importer. You then connect the extension to your website’s plugin by entering website’s import link and a secret key. After that, all you would need to do is go to an Amazon product page and, using the extension, import the product to your own website. However, when Wordfence is enabled, I get a “Connection error!” and the import doesn’t go through. I tried adding the IP of my server to the Allowlisted IP addresses in the Advanced Firewall Options, but that didn’t solve the problem. Is there any other setting I could try so I don’t have to disable Wordfence every time I want to import products?

    Hello, @rookie99

Thanks for reaching out. Can you confirm that with Wordfence disabled, the “Connection Error” no longer shows?

With Wordfence enabled, at the exact moment when the “Connection Error” occurs, are you seeing a new entry in Live Traffic? You can see that via the Wordfence > Tools > Live Traffic page. If a new entry does come in when the error occurs, you can allowlist the item there from the new live traffic entry.

If you’re not seeing an entry in Live Traffic, the best option would be to try Learning Mode. You can switch to Learning Mode via Wordfence > Firewall > All Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status and switch from Enabled and Protecting to Learning Mode. Try the action you were attempting to perform again, and then head back over afterward and switch back to Enabled and Protecting. If the action was successful, it will be allowlisted.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hey, @wfscott

Thank you for taking the time to look into this. I did manage to import products with Wordfence deactivated (no “Connection error!”). Unfortunately, I don’t see a new entry in the Live Traffic log when I try to import a product, even with “All Traffic” logging mode enabled.

However, the good news is that enabling Learning Mode helped solved this issue. I now see that it has allowlisted the URL that I needed to enter into the import extension and its parameters. Everything works wonderfully now. Thank you for the help, Scott. Have a wonderful day!
