Trying to import customers into Jeckpack CRM using standard importer. I have the csv file and it appears ok, however it does not import. tried exporting about 50 customers entered manually, csv file created and tried to import back into the system, however this does not import also. I dont understand what is wrong. i also downloaded the sample file, saved to csv comma delimited and achieved no success. using excel 2007 and suggestions would be appreciated

    Hello @rkrumbholz,

I trust you checked our documentation about importing data with our importer. It looks like you edited the sample CSV file before importing it. If so, can you import the sample file correctly if you don’t edit it?

Can you share the error you get when the import jobs fail? You said you used Excel; can you try using a different software, like Google Sheet for example, to see if that helps?

In case you still have troubles, there might be something in your site that’s clashing. Can you please temporarily deactivate all your plugins (but keep Jetpack CRM active) and check if the problem gets fixed that way? If it works, then reactivate each plugin one by one to find out which one is causing problems.

Let me know what you find out!

Thankyou for your fast response. Yes I have read your documentation about importing data with your importer.

The error message is: Your file is not a correctly-formatted CSV file. Please check your file format. If you continue to have issues please contact support.

I opened the file in google sheets and downloaded in csv, but still get the same error message. The sample file does not import also.

I will now start deactivating plugins, and get back to you.

Update: I deactivated all the plugins except Jetpak CRM, and still get the same error message.

    Hi there,

The error you got is something users can stumble upon when they need to format the CSV file differently. Can you please take a look at this guide and let us know if that helps?

Thanks for your assistance, still unable to import. There are not a lot of customers, so i worked around by copy and pasting the information.

    Hi there, @rkrumbholz,

I am glad you eventually figured it out, but still, we’re sorry you didn’t have a good experience with our importer.

Upon talking to our colleagues, we do believe there might be something off in the Excel 2007 (which is an old verison of the software) that might clash with our system, despite converting your data in Google Sheets.

If you happen to need the importer again and you stumble upon the same issue, do let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
