    Hi

    I’m not someone who usually asks for help but this issue is a little frustrating and baffling.
    My problem is when I import a csv file or an excel file, it comes up with the message “The site is experiencing technical difficulties, please contact your site administator”

    I have narrowed the problem down to a specific column of my spreadsheet, all the other columns upload just fine. When I copy and paste what was in those specific cells manually, the table displays it just fine on my website. You can see I have pasted a single cell for the column in question in the table to test that it works.

    Here is a link to the column of the spreadsheet in question, when I upload it regardless of format, the same error occurs. I’m not sure why since the previous column is essentially the same.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    I’m not exactly sure, but my guess here is that some server software, like the firewall or a security check, is preventing the upload of the to-be-imported file.
    The firewall or security software might be thinking that a hacking attempt is taking place, trying e.g. to somehow inject a large number of spam links into the site.
    Then, instead of passing the upload on to TablePress, it blocks it with that error message.

    Depending on the specific software and its configuration, it might be possible that there’s more information about this somewhere in the server’s error log files. Could you maybe try to find out more about that, with the help of your webhost company’s support team?
