• Well, I’m getting a “Your database is already up to date!” error accessing the Admin. I’m stumped.

I can’t get into my admin area after the 4.2.3 update. The site will browse as normal, however, I’m unable to access any admin area. When I do attempt to access the admin, I’m greeted with this message: https://i.imgur.com/yMZAHN7.png

I’ve clicked “Continue” and it sends me right back to the home page. I’m able to see the admin bar; I’m able to log in. I just can’t get to the admin.

I downloaded a fresh copy of 4.2.3 and re-uploaded everything (aside from config and wp-content).

Is anyone having this problem? I’m not sure what’s causing the problem.

    Update

I’ve fixed it by renaming object-cache.php to object-cache.php.bak

This has been a work around to get back into the admin, but does anyone know what this has to do with the memecache plugin? I’d like to fix this problem if anyone knows a proper solution?

I’m having this same problem. Is re-installing WP the only way to fix this?

    Hi Kat,

No. Go into wp-content/ and rename object-cache.php to object-cache.php.bak

This is the quick fix. I’m still looking for the correct solution.. but this will get you back into your admin.

Same sort of problem but it looks as though mine has been hacked – look for id.php in root.

I was having the same issue this morning. I notified my hosting provider to see whether it was an issue related to them. A few minutes later, I was able to access admin again. Not sure if my host fixed the issue, or if it was something that worked itself out.

Turns out it was my hosting. Received a message from them saying that sometimes the database cache needs to be cleared after an update. They ran this for me and everything is now working properly.

The easiest fix is to contact your hosting provider. It is a caching issue, and my provider (DreamHost) was able to fix it immediately.

Well, whilst disabling the object-cache DOES at least get the access back, it is something really odd, because I have 10 sites on the same server. 9 are OK, one is not.

The suggestions thus far are not really a solution. Another update is needed.

Fresh and awake in the morning now. So, I fixed it. I have a VPS Hosting deal, and so have access as root to WHM. Log in to WHM, run phpmyadmin (this will not work in phpmyadmin in cpanel). Go to the SQL command box and type in FLUSH TABLES and click go. That’s it!!!!

I thought it was. but no, it didn’t fix it. All I get now is

    No Update Required

Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!

And it bumps me back to the front end.

I had to re-boot my server as well. All is now fixed. Really.

I faced the same problem. and now its fixed
I logged into my host provider’s account (DreamHost).
In Left hand menu –> VPS –> Dashboard.
I restarted the servers. I waited for 2 mins till complete refresh, prayed to all 330 million Gods in my religion ??

One of them heard my prayers for sure:)
