Unable to get to Step 2

When you unzipped the download from here, did it unzip into 4 folders and several files, or one folder and a huge mass of files ?

4 folders and several files.

Below my root I have

\wordpress\wp-admin
\wordpress\wp-content
\wordpress\wp-images
\wordpress\wp-includes

Who is your host ?
Did all the files get uploaded in ASCII mode ?
Have you tried deleting ‘install.php’ and reuploading it?

I’m my own host, so the files are copied locally. The strange thing is I can access and run install:

https://theworldfund.com:3001/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php

But after the first screen I get the error message I indicated above.

Resolved this by installing a different WAMP (went from TSW (The Saint-WAMP) to WAMP5 1.4.4 and eliminated the problem (I believe it was an Apache configuration error).
