• I think I stepped into a mess I wish I had not.

https://www.babysgotstyle.com.au/blognew/ is where the blog is at

Layout turns up, images too, but if you try clicking to go to categories, pages, or individual posts, it goes to the site’s 404 page.

Strangely enough, the site has been set up in what appears to be cpanel, but instead of the public_html folder, they are on a different one on the same level as the public_html… www/magento. Does it matter where?

I am not sure if this is what is giving the blog problems. Already went through the issue of not being able to update the site properly and issues with uploading files (still have that going on.)

  • Try going into the WP admin -> Permalinks -> Set to “month and name” or “custom” and enter /%postname%/, then save changes.

I’d talk to your host about file uploads, sounds like a permissions issue.

permalinks are to /%postname%/ and I had to put the .htaccess to that.

The problem is that the folder is not your usual cpanel public_html

I believe they use magento and on the same level as the public_html folder, they have www-magento folder. This is where they have their store and also their blog.

When this issue came up… I think the permalinks were reset… so I clicked to reset again. That part resolved thankfully.

However, I am still a bit concerned on the files folder being used instead of the uploads folder.

    I will check into that.

Thanks for at least suggesting. I had the permalinks already set, but the reset did the trick.

If you go into the Dashboard and under the Media page located in the Settings section, what does it show is listed under the Uploading Files section?
