Unable to get rid of strange snippet image

  • Hi, I have a strange smiley face image whenever I post to Facebook or Messenger with above URL which I can’t get rid of. I’ve tried setting a featured image which show up ok in the snippet preview but once posted the smiley face comes back. Also it still appears when the featured image is removed. Maybe something malicious? – I don’t know.
    Any advice would be much appreciated

    What plugin is responsible for the open graph and twitter card tags? It’s using that image as the related image attribute. There ought to be a setting somewhere where you specify the image to use. If you have trouble finding it, I suggest you ask for assistance in the dedicated support channel for the responsible plugin.

    It seems Yoast SEO is responsible for the social tags.
    Check out SEO -> Social page. There are Facebook and Twitter tabs for general settings.
    Or you can set an image for each post.

    Thank you bcworkz for reply and for the information. At the moment I don’t know but will investigate as you suggest.
    Thanks ikaring- the problem with the image existed long before I recently installed Yoast. I installed the plugin to see if could resolve the issue.
