Unable to Get Past Age Gate in Safari

Just done a test in safari 15.6.1 and i can get through, are you getting any errors? If you turn it on temporaily I can have a look and try and get it the bug squashed

That link was fine for me in 15.6. I’ve just release a patch that does fix a javascript error though, can you see it that resolves it?

Still no dice. Here is a screen recording showing the issue and error message

I think the page there is cached, I still see the JS error that’s just been patched out, and the assets have a v3 version on them like:

/wp-content/plugins/age-gate/dist/focus.js?ver=3.0.0

Think I’ve worked this out. In JS I use the submitter that is part of the form submission. Safari only introduced it in 15.4 which would be why mine works and yours doesn’t. Will come up with a solution for older browsers and come back to you.

Just an addition, I believe it’ll only be affecting the submission by buttons, input fields should be fine on older safari versions.

Update as promised, this should now work in 3.0.2. I’ve tested it back to about Safari 13 and on iOS 12 and it works for both now.

@philsbury I’m so sorry but I am still getting this issue. I have version 3.0.3 installed and cleared all the caches and still getting the same error message when hitting YES on the age gate. Thoughts?

@skylarfierros1 Which site are you seeing it on? Just tested the spectra on Safari 13 and it worked for me.

@philsbury I see it on the Spectra site. That is so weird.

Yeah very. If you view the page source, so the age gate javascript files say 3.0.3 at the end?

That is so odd @skylarfierros1 .

I’ll have another look at it and try and find a Safari 15.0 – annoyingly my old laptop is on 15.4 which is just inside the version where it just works!

I’d suggest in the meantime to switch it to the input fields as its only the buttons that have the problem.
