Unable to get into my dashboard via firefox

Yesterday I suddenly began having trouble logging in. It would accept my userid and password, but then my browser would just hang there until I finally killed the process.

I tried entering an incorrect password, and it caught it and prompted me again, leading me to believe that the problem is not in wp-login, but in wp-admin/index

I was able to get in at one point yesterday by viewing my stats through my wordpress.com dashboard and following links there to get to my own hosted dashboard. I’m not sure why that worked, and it’s not working today.

I’ve re-uploaded all of the files in the main blog directory, as well as a few in the wp-admin directory, to no avail.

The only thing I can think of that I have changed in the last few days is the wp-config file, but I put back the original version of that and am still having a problem.

I’m using firefox. I tried a last-ditch effort of logging in through IE, and that worked! Now, why would that be? I really don’t want to use IE regularly, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
