Unable to generate Payment Method ID

Hi @jonfitzgerald,

That error means that something is preventing the Stripe JavaScript from executing correctly. Part of the process when that file executes is that the Payment Method ID is dynamically added to the markup and then sent with the API call to Stripe to process the donation.

Usually when something is breaking that, it’s a plugin or theme conflict.

Follow the steps there, and let us know if you can isolate what the conflict is. At that point, we’ll try to replicate the conflict and find a fix.

Another option is to use the Stripe Checkout (2.0 redirect) option. You can enable the Checkout gateway at Donations > Settings > Payment Gateways and then ensure it’s 2.0 redirect at the Stripe > Checkout section of that same tab.

Thanks for your reply.

The ‘Stripe Checkout (2.0 redirect)’ didn’t work for me, same error is coming up.

Are there any known plugins or ‘types’ of plugins that can cause that error?

Can you direct me to a form with the Stripe Checkout gateway (2.0) live?

As far as I’m aware, it should be impossible to get that error from Stripe checkout, because the donor is redirected to Stripe to complete the donation.
