• Hello,

I am having this problem with my wordpress site. When I log in to the admin page, I am unable to expand any menu by clicking on the triangle icon. Even the ones for “Help”, “Screen Options” and “Howdy, admin” on the top-right of the page.

    Any one encountered this before?

  • Are you using Firefox? If so, try it in another browser. If it works, then Firefox is the problem.

First, it you have the NoScript Firefox addon installed, make sure to allow it to run scripts on your site.

I also had a problem when I upgraded to the new version of WordPress with a 3.x version of Firefox. I couldn’t expand certain menus, and some arrows didn’t even appear. I upgraded to version 5 of Firefox, and everything started working normally. Unfortunately, many of my Firefox addons didn’t work, so I downgraded Firefox back to a 3.x version, and the problems with WordPress remained fixed. I can’t really say why. Maybe a newer version of certain files remained installed with the downgrade.

Sorry, forgot to mention earlier that I have tried with all types of browsers and all of them face the same thing. I have other sites as well and those are OK so it looks like the problem is specific to this particular one but I do not have a clue what could be the problem.

That would be a javascript error.
Please try to deactivate plugins and see if one of the plugins causing the issue.
