• Currently using WP version 6.7.1 and Edwiser bridge plugin version 3.0.8.

Not able to enrol students from Users > All users (using the “link user” option), get the following error message:

    Sorry, unable to link user
Check if first name and last name of the user is empty.
    Please test Moodle connection.
To know more about this error please

Have checked and the user(s) all have first and last name. I went to the link https://edwiser.helpscoutdocs.com/article/233-unable-to-link-user-account-in-moodle-in-users-section-while-using-edwiser-bridge-plugin

I also get an unspecified error if I attempt to enrol users from Manage Enrolment > Enrol New Student.

So I test out the connection in Settings > Connection and I receive the following error:

Test Connection failed, To check more information about issue click here .

How would I resolve this issue. I setup the integration about a year ago and I have not updated Moodle plugins, core or the settings since. I assume it might be something such as generate the token from within Moodle again and redo the initial configuration? Is there some help doc I can refer to here? I don’t know what this error means except for the fact it can not find a token because it is missing or invalid.

Can someone please advise me on what steps to take here?

  • Hello @rarcher30

Thank you for reaching out to Edwiser Support.

User linking and user enrollment functionalities heavily rely on the proper integration between your WordPress and Moodle platforms. If this integration is disrupted, core Edwiser Bridge features will indeed be affected.

To begin troubleshooting, we highly recommend updating your Edwiser Bridge plugins on both WordPress and Moodle to their latest versions. This is often the first and most effective step in resolving such issues.

Please update to the following versions:
    On WordPress:
Edwiser Bridge – WordPress Moodle LMS Integration: v3.1.1
    Edwiser Bridge Pro: v3.0.6
    On Moodle:
    Edwiser Bridge: v3.1.0

You can find a comprehensive guide on how to update your Edwiser plugins by following this documentation link:
    https://edwiser.helpscoutdocs.com/article/573-upgrade-edwiser-bridge-plugins-to-the-newest-version

After updating the plugins, please check if the issue persists. If you continue to experience problems with the connection or user enrollment, we recommend referring to our detailed troubleshooting article: WordPress or Moodle – Test Connection Fails!” which can be found here:
    https://edwiser.helpscoutdocs.com/article/238-eb-test-connection-fails

Furthermore, it’s also advisable to verify that any firewall or security plugins active on your server or WordPress site are not inadvertently blocking the API requests necessary for the Edwiser Bridge to function correctly. This is a crucial step in identifying potential conflicts.

Please let us know if updating resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance after trying these steps. We are here to help you get everything working smoothly.

    Thanks,

    Edwiser Support Team
