Jan – unfortunately I am unable to upload or add any new themes and twenty fourteen is not listed. This is one of the options I am referring to that is missing. There are currently no active plugins.

Senff – I don’t see the WP version number. I can’t figure out what in the world is going on. There are no options for updating or anything. Should I try to contact sesame to see if there are any restrictions placed on the account?

Hey, I have been searching around, and found a plugin you may be interested in using. Click here to view it.

Please tell me if this works.

zachturner – unfortunately I am unable to add any plugins ?? The functionality for plugins has been disabled by the webhost.

Oh okay, I will try to look for another solution for you, and will comment if I do find anything.

thank you all so much for your help thus far.

It’s worth a try for sure. I’m not familiar with Sesame but someone must have placed restrictions there….

I couldn’t find anything, I am not sure why it isn’t working, you could as an alternative, just have a link to the YouTube video, which just takes them to YouTube itself. This is just an idea, if someone doesn’t have a solution.

    Sorry.

To all those who have been helping, I contacted sesame and they have iframes as well as auto embedding disabled. No wonder I couldn’t get this to work. The rep said she needed to check with her supervisor to see if they can enable either of those functions. I appreciate so much all of your help. Had no one suggested there were restrictions I may have never contacted sesame. Thank you again!

    Hope you get it working!

I hope so too, or my boss will probably switch web hosts!

My website is on GoDaddy, and some of my staff members have complained they aren’t able to embed a YouTube video.

I troubleshooted with a staff member a couple of options.

I disabled a Youtube plugin. I also elevated his privileges to Editor.

None of these worked. He is unable to post an embed. What happens is that when he pastes the embed, and posts it live — the embed code disappears in the Editing Mode as if it was never posted. Something that is noticed is that a parenthesis appears in place of the embed code.

As an admin, I am able to post embed codes. Staff members with author or editor privileges are not able.

I am wondering if this is a bonafide WordPress bug that hasn’t been identified, or a plugin messing up.
