Unable to edit site after update

I had to roll back and I rolled back to before 3.0 because every version after that has caused problems on the test version of my client’s site.

Before you roll back, make a copy of your database (export your database). All-One-WP Migration has an option to export your site.

Then go to Elementor > Tools and look for Version Control. Set the version to 2.9.8. Click the button to reinstall Elementor.

Your site should be okay.

If that doesn’t work, then find a backup of your site before the problems happened and reinstall that backup or ask your web host for help.

I am facing the same issue.
now I am unable to edit any elementor pages. The left side of my screen just constantly stays reloading.
this last update 3.0 really messed with my site.

I tried rolling back to 2.9.8 but it does not allow me saying I do not have an active license whereas my license is going to expire after 3 months from now.

If I hire a web developer to reinstall backup of my website, I need to pay him money which does not makes any sense. Plus, its a lot of hassle reviewing the website in detail after reinstalling full website trying to make sure everything is fine.

Extremely unhappy with Elementor. I am losing business and kind of started hating elemntor.

Also their support is worse. Even after being a pro customer, I am waiting for 3 days for a support response.

My advice was for the free version of Elementor. If you have Elementor Pro, then you need to get in touch with Elementor’s developers directly because you’re a paying customer. If you keep backups of your site you don’t need a developer to reinstall the site. You can look for advice online on how to install from a backup, it’s not that hard. I do hope you have a backup of your site. It’s a good idea to make a backup before you update any plugin. I learned this from painful experience. Good luck to you.

I believe elementor is saving any data of newers versions… any help for that?

My Issue was solved.
Elementor pro editor was not loading and I was not able to edit pages.
Also wehen I was trying to update Elementor it was showing an error. Something like cURL error 56: Recv failure: Connection reset by peer

I had a cache plugin called WP Fastest Cache.
I cleared my cache and updated elementor to the latest version. Not it was succesfully updated.
And now elementor alos working fine.

What I saw on the test site of the client site when I did the last update:

*All the H2s became H1s
*All the styling in our Anywhere Elementor Pro templates is messed up. The wrong fonts are appearing and elements are “borrowing” from neighbouring fonts.
*When you go to edit anything, the editor looks weird. The heading appears smaller than it used to and is capitalize case rather than uppercase, that sort of thing
*I am happy that a page built in ACF Blocks for Gutenberg does not break anymore but these other issues are a problem

I’ve rolled it back to 2.9.8 and then 2.9.1 (which my other site is currently at and is working fine) but neither one worked and I’m unable to edit any page. I’m also still having the same styling issues with some of my fonts even after doing it.

I had to completely reinstall a local site from backup after the first update. I have a site that handled the update with no problems at all so it’s all about the configuration, the mix of plugins etc.

Maybe try cleaning your database and clearing your cache.

Thanks for the help, I was able to regain access after deleting a couple of plugins.

When you have an issue with the editor, first of all, activate the safe mode to rule out conflicts.

The rollback tool is a last resort tool. It is not a solution.
