I am completely unable to edit a CPT created by PODS. I’ve deactivated most of my plugins, changed to default themes, and cleared cache repeatedly but to no avail. Can someone tell me how this happens? I still have an open ticket regarding a PODS WYSIWYG field not allowing me to edit that either on other PODS CPTs. It’s been weeks and I can’t figure out why this won’t work. Please help!

    Thanks!

When you say that you cannot edit the CPT, do you mean the Pod config (Pods Admin > Edit Pods > Edit Pod > Nothing saves) or do you mean when you try to edit a post on the custom post type created by Pods?

Do you see any specific errors on the screen?

Can you clarify what not being able to edit means here — is it that you cannot interact with the form or that upon changing values the data does not save?

I’m unable to edit, view, delete or anything at all with the record like I should be able to. Only one option pops up when you hover over the post and it doesn’t help me access it at all.

Can you submit your Pods Package and Site Health information on the Priority Upgrade Support form here: https://docs.pods.io/pods-upgrade-troubleshooting-and-priority-support/

I can help you navigate whatever this might be more quickly there with those details.

Take your time. I worked all night long while taking care of one of my kids who is sick with the flu. I’m going to sleep but will be back online later this afternoon or early evening (Texas time).

To follow up here, it looks like this was due to the setting for “Additional User Capabilities” in the CPT advanced options on the Edit Pod screen.

I’m relabeling that field to “Full User Capabilities” and adding the text “Enable editing and deleting of content in this Post Type” next to the checkbox in Pods 3.1.5 to make this clear for folks as I totally forgot myself too (it defaults to on and it’s rarely turned off on any of my configs).

I spoke too soon. This ticket is still unresolved. I’m still experiencing major problems with this one CPT. I’m unable to get it to display correctly on any template. I’ve looked at this one CPT compared to the working CPTs with settings selected prior to recent PODS updates and see at least one thing that stands out.

On the “Access Rights” tab, the working CPTs don’t have any settings selected:

The one CPT that doesn’t work does have settings selected:

I’m unable to deselect the radio buttons on the “Dynamic Features” settings to test this theory as to why the CPT won’t show up on any Elementor template that I’ve created.

*I’ve seen this on both the staging and live sites that you should still have access to.

    Please advise.

This looks like a page template issue with the posts in question. Those posts had a custom page template set instead of using the default. When a custom page template is used, it overrides the Elementor Theme Builder template that would normally be applied. After I set those to use the default template, they started appearing as expected.
