When I go to edit the accordion element on pages in the admin, it’s not working. When I click the edit icon for the accordion, the left bar for editing is blank except for a “Need Help?” link. I tested with the theme set to Twenty Twenty and all the other plugins except Elementor disabled, and it still has the same issue. We’re on WordPress 5.3.2 and Elementor 2.8.2. Any idea what might be up?

  • Hi,

If you have already deactivated all of your plugins except Elementor and temporarily switched to a default WP theme, please try the following troubleshooting steps in order to identify the issue:

    1. Try changing your CSS Print Method going to Elementor settings > Advanced > CSS Print Method and see if that fixes the issue.

    2. Regenerate the CSS via Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS on your WordPress Dashboard, then make sure that you clear your WP cache (your WP plugin if you have one), your server cache (if you have one. In this case, you can contact your hosting provider), and your browser cache.

I hope these solutions will help you solve this issue.

I tried that, but it didn’t seem to make any difference.

Have you tried to check if the widget is working properly while checking on a different browser?

Please also try on a different computer, the issue might be caused due to your browser’s extensions.

We’ve already checked it on several different browsers and several different computers, it’s having the same issue on all of them.

Do you see any other errors?

Please update Elementor to its latest available update (2.8.3)
and let me know if it solves your issue.

No, I haven’t seen any other errors. I tried updating to 2.8.3, but the issue is still happening.

I just tried rolling Elementor back to older versions, and it works fine on 2.7.6, it’s the versions after that where it’s not working.

    Hi,

Do you see any errors on your Console Log (on your browser)?
If so, please paste it here or via PasteBin, so I could examine the issue better.

This is happening to me too. I’ve tried multiple browsers.

    Hi,

We are currently checking the cause of this issue with our development team.

In the meanwhile, please try the following steps:

Are you by any chance using version 4 of Font-Awesome?

If so, you can try upgrading to version 5 and see if it solves the issue with the Accordion widget.

Go to WP Dashboard > Elementor > Tools, and upgrade your font-awesome version to version 5 as mentioned in the following guide:
    https://docs.elementor.com/article/584-migration-to-font-awesome-5

Let me know if it solved your issue.

    Thanks David
I’ve upgraded to Font-Awesome 5 as per your suggestion and can see the Accordion is now working as expected.
    Cheers
    Aaron
