    Hi.
The last days I can’t edit a newsletter. Neither a new one, nor a duplicated. The options at the edit page are gone. There is nothing to add. It’s blank. There is only the newsletter itself, but the options like “add a picture”, “add a wordpress post” etc which were at the right hand of the screen, disappeared.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I have the same problem, I think the problem is with the WordPress update to 4.9 as the problems appeared after the update. Something probably changed in WordPress 4.9 so that might have broken the MailPoet 2 editor. Now to hope that they update the version 2 still to be usable because all cannot migrate to Mailpoet 3. Well it’s discontinued so not that high expectations…

The only thing why I have stayed on v.2 is that the v.3 editor with the column-shit is useless. In v.2 I could easily add narrow-width image next to text and it would fill the rest of column with the text. Now in v.3 you need to add image to column and not to text-column and then having two columns it looks ridiculous as the image is 1/4 columns wide, there is 1/4 empty space and then text is 1/2 wide…

I believe that is a way to force us to migrate to Mailpoet 3.

yeah I believe so as well, @taskylon. It’s like an iPhone that suddenly starts acting up when a new version is released.

Since no more support is given out on v2, I might as well download the plugin, break it open to see what’s up and re-launch it under GPL.

Or, we all start using v3, which is FAR superior than v2 and the clients who are already migrated to v3 LOVE it.

That is already fixed in the new version 2.8 just released here in the repository, please update.

I updated to 2.8 but still have this issue. I have tried deleting plugin and reinstalling from 2.8 download and it makes no difference. I update WordPress to 4.9. Any suggestions on how I fix Mail Poet 2? I need to send out a newsletter.

    Thanks

No, it’s not resolved the issue! It’s still the same.

    this didnt fix it, sorry.

Updated to 2.8 too. Didn’t fix anything at all. Had to downgrade WordPress to 4.8.3 instead.

Really annoyed with this. Can’t edit any newsletters or create new ones in Mailpoet 2. Therefore switched to Mailpoet 3. After working two hours (!!, in Mailpoet 2 this took us 15 minutes), on creating a newsletter we found out that sending over SMTP isn’t working. So now what?!

I hope Mailpoet 2 will be fixed very soon. We have a premium license and our subscribers expect our newsletter. Today… ??

Hopefully you guys will fix Mailpoet 2, especially since Mailpoet 3 isn’t working like a charm at the moment. Any updates on this would be more than welcome.

    Our WordPress-version: 4.9
    Our Mailpoet 2 version: 2.8

Turns out that the “fix” for MailPoet 2 works if you have Premium – but the free version is still broken on WP 4.9.

    (@yuriv)

We have Premium and can’t edit newsletters in MailPoet 2 (on WP 4.9).

    NekoNadia

    (@nekonadia)

@yuriv I take it back. I got some other free versions working so premium had nothing to do with it, it was just a coincidence. Sorry for jumping to conclusions!

After some initial panic I have now updated and checked seven different installations of MailPoet 2 on WP 4.9 and only one (of course the first one I updated and really needed to use right away) was broken.

After ripping out all the other plugins I had on that one site I found that it was another plugin that kept the editing sidebar from loading. Without it MailPoet 2 works as it should again.

I just migrated to Mailpoet 3 as I din’t see any solution. Well, the mailpoet 3 has no automated newsletter for free users as mailpoet 2 had. If someone wants to send automatic newsletter to new subscribers for example, he has to be premium user.

I too upgraded to version 2.8 – Same problem. Unable to edit or duplicate newsletters (no tools present).
I then downloaded and installed MailPoet 3. When I tried to activate it I got the following error:
“MailPoet plugin cannot run under Microsoft’s Internet Information Services (IIS) web server. We recommend that you use a web server powered by Apache or NGINX.”
Either way, I’m dead in the water. Anyone with 2.8 figured out how to get this to work yet?

    ntel34

    (@ntel34)

@nekonadia What was the plugin which enabled the MailPoet 2 back to working?

I installed the 2.8 version and it brought the right sidebar back but still I cannot edit the newsletter. Now it turns the paragraph I want to edit to blank white and is not reversing back.
