    Hi @jenxi,
Do you have any plugins blocking access to the REST API or is your site using password authentication?

When you hover over the red X what is the text that appears?

Cursor turns into a question mark but no text appears. Site is not password protected.

I only have the following plugins installed:
    Jetpack
    Instant Images
    Update Control
    Wordfence Security
    Yoast SEO

I don’t think these would block REST API access.

    Thanks,
If you hold the cursor hover it for a second it will display. It’s title text.

Anyways, whats your max file upload size?

I have tried the hover many times. Nothing shows up.

The plugin worked before. Now it doesn’t. Max file upload size hasn’t changed. It’s 20MB

Ok I just viewed source to check the title text: Unable to download image to server, please check your server permissions.

Not sure why hover doesn’t show up.

    Ok thanks.
If your wp-content/uploads/instant-images/ has 755 permissions then sorry I’m not sure.

There is some issue with WordPress REST API and the HTTP Class on some servers.
As I mentioned in the thread below yours I’m going to start working on a revised uploader.

Yes, the permissions are correct. The plugin was working fine before. Not sure when the issue came up because I haven’t used Unsplash photos for a while. Would have been useful if I had noticed when so I’d know which plugins or update caused the issue.

Just pushed a new version (3.1.1) that uses a different upload function.

Let me know if this helps.
