  • Same issue

I was able to downgrade to 5.4.2 from 5.5 after disabling my caching plugin before running the WP Downgrade. Try disabling caching and then run WP Downgrade.

If this did not work, you may also try Enable jQuery Migrate Helper By The WordPress Team. I would actually recommend this route because this way you can have the enhancements of 5.5 but sill use the old plugins.

Not working for me neither… i don’t have the button to reinstall the old version on core-updates and i dont have caching plugin… any solution ?

So, when you go to: /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wp_downgrade , there is no option to enter in a new WordPress Target Version in the field (I entered: 5.4.2), or that change doesn’t get retained when you Save Changes? That was the steps I had to take to get to the Core Update page: /wp-admin/update-core.php to “Update to version 5.4.2″… (in my case). And the site is now working as it did under that version instead of throwing map jquery errors.

Same issue. I’ve deactivated my caching plugin (Hummingbird Pro) but it didn’t change anything…

I had the same issue until I deactivated some other plugins. Once other plugins were deactivated it worked as it should.

I disabled all plugins and still couldn’t roll back from 5.5.1 to 5.5 or 5.4.2 ??

same problem here. changed the php page to turn caching off, all plug-ins are deactivated (except WP downgrade) still no seeable way to ‘start’ downgrade. Just the same page to update themes but no core version of WP. A lot of people seem to have this problem with no solutions I’ve seen. There’s just no option to force or start a downgrade. Anybody know of an answer? would be greatly appreciated.

Strange, I couldn’t see this behavior anywhere. There should be at least a button for “reinstall”.
Have you tried to set a different version number? So not the one you want, but a lower one, for example?

Please have a look at the new FAQ for this:

@reisetiger i have tried all in your new FAQ, it did’t work.
    Solution?

Hey guys, have the same problem. Did anyone get a solution? The suggestions above did not work for me

I’ve been having the same problem. I deactivated all the plugins and tried to downgrade again but it doesn’t work.
