Unable to display widget for 'news' post types only

Hi

I have a ‘news’ post type and have many news pages that are this post type, see here https://www.inchbald.co.uk/news.

I would like to display a news widget in the Content Sidebar for news pages only. However, I cannot seem to do this via the ‘widget visibility’ plugin – it does not list any ‘news’ pages, or give the option to display on all news pages. Also, when i set up a tag on a news page it did not display on the widget visibility list under tags.

I’m not sure if this is how it works, e.g. only works with default post types ‘pages’ and ‘posts’, or if it is a bug…

If you can let me know that would be great, and/or some advice how to fix so works how I want it to.
