I successfully updated several sites to WooCommerce 4.4.1, and I’m unable to dismiss the “WooCommerce database update done” notice at the top of WooCommerce pages.

This has happened before, as described here, and on Github.

The only thing I see in the error logs is this:

    [access_compat:error] [pid 20217:tid 140031829403392] [client 12.345.67.8:52306] AH01797: client denied by server configuration: /home/username/thedomain.com/html/wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/, referer https://thedomain.com/wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/

I haven’t been able to figure out what server configuration might be blocking that, and the IP it gives is the domain’s IP. I’m not sure that’s related.

I don’t have any server-side caching enabled, and no CDN. I am using WP Super Cache and Autoptimize, but I cleared both of those in addition to my browser cache to no avail.

The fix described in the links above, changing the status of wc-update-db-reminder in the wp_wc_admin_notes table from “unactioned” to “actioned” works to get rid of the notice.

The error message appears to be unrelated. I’ve had the database update complete on two sites, the error still appeared, but I was able to dismiss the “WooCommerce database update done” notice on those two sites.

All the sites are on the same server.

It may be coincidence, but I’ve finally gotten both the “WooCommerce database update done” and Coupon location notices to go away by dismissing them from the Orders page. It has worked on three sites.
