• Hi I’ve just installed the Mailchimp list plugin on my site.

I’m Unable to disable any non-required fields in Merge Variables section. There is no tick box under Include? column. Instead there is a – (hyphen)

I want to exclude the First and Last name options but can’t

    Appreciate any help

    Kind regards

  • Hey Drewdug,

Thanks so much for getting in touch! That definitely sounds odd and I’m happy to help out a bit.

The first thing to try here is to go into MailChimp itself and jump into that list, then go to the Settings > List Fields and *|MERGE|* tags. If you can toggle the fields you want to not be required as required, then save the changes to the list, then make them not required once more and save again, that should help a bit. After that, within the WordPress Plugin you’d need to click the button to Update List next to the list’s title, then see if that fixes things now that we’ve verified the fields as not required and updated the list in the plugin.

If the issue persists, we’d really appreciate an email with a screenshot of what you’re seeing and details of your username and which list within MailChimp the issue is arising with. If you need to, you can send that to wordpress [at] mailchimp [dot] com and notify us here that you’ve sent those details our way.

    Thanks!
    Gabe
