Unable to delete or disable a plugin- delete via FTP??

  • The plugin in question is Ajax Thumbnail Rebuild. I have posted on their forum to ask why I can’t deactivate the plugin but i’m unsure how quickly they’ll respond.

    My question is- is it ok to delete a plugin via FTP when it’s active? If you try to delete an active plugin on wordpress it won’t let you and so I was wondering if that’s because simply deleting it may have unwanted effects.
