Using the most recent version of the plugin (1.1.32). When selecting old packages, getting the “Delete” option in the bulk action dropdown and submitting, getting the message that I need to select an action from the bulk action dropdown – “Please select an action from the “Bulk Actions” drop down menu!”

Multiple installs experiencing the same issue. We are running on IIS so not sure if that is the issue. We’ve had numerous problems in the past with other plugins on this platform but unfortunately are not able to move to a new environment.

Tested on a WAMP local install and the issue is not present (Apache of course).

    Thanks for any help.

  • Continuing Problems ==

Downloaded Dev v1.1.33. It seemed to work after refreshing the “All Packages” page. But it didn’t, actually…and now I don’t trust the Package contents. In fact, my upload to HostGator shared hosting failed at Step 3 > Permalinks. Returned about 8 lines of errors, some of which appear to pertain to WordFence issues. I have uninstalled WF and will reinstall if I *EVER* get the damned site up and running online.

Downloaded v1.1.34 update. Installation failed due to an error related to existing plugin (1.1.33) Plugin disappeared from Installed Plugin List message said it had been deactivated.

I installed the 1.1.34 update. Tried to delete my existing package set. Again, no can do. Plugin does not recognize that I *AM* selecting a package and I *AM* selecting DELETE.

Deleted the plugin. Navigated to wp_content/plugins and found the duplicator folder still there, nearly empty. Also found the blasted wp_snapshots folder still there, with my recent package contents in it. I deleted that directory manually.

Reinstalled the new update. Still can’t delete existing Package…

I’m trying to migrate my very first WP site and having a TERRIBLE TIME with database issues. I’m amazed at how THIS PLUGIN WEIRDNESS is happening…right now… SUX

    Hey @bothhands,

In order to remove the /wp-snapshots folder as part of removing the plugins goto Settings > Uninstall and check the “Delete Entire Storage Directory”.

As far as the plugin itself not being this would have to do with permission issues on the plugins directory which is uncommon, but can happen. Permissions are not controllable by the plugin so you would need to talk with hostgator and find out why WordPress is not allowed to remove the /wp-content/plugin/duplicator contents.

It sounds like the removal of your packages also have to do with permission issues, you might check with hostgator to see if your site is setup correctly as this is an issue we hardly ever have reports on… As always if you want to submit a ticket we can help out as well…

    Hope that helps~

Thanks for your very instructive remarks.

The first sentence of your second paragraph omitted the operative word. It reads, “As far as the plugin itself not being [ ? ] this would have to do with permission issues on the plugins directory which is uncommon.” Please complete that thought.

Also, please note that my site is *not yet* on the Hostgator server; it’s still on my localhost Xampp virtual server. I take your point re. a possible Permissions issue with my the plugins directory in my Xampp environment, and I’m very glad to have the information, BUT…

I know how to check and modify Permissions via FTP, but am sketchy on how to do it on my own computer (Win7). Windows Explorer does not display settings like “755” etc. It provides a list with checkboxes. My \wp-content\plugins directory displays the following Permissions as *ALLOW* for *Authenticated Users* (I’m Administrator):

    Modify
    Read & Execute
    List folder contents
    Read
    Write

Does that sound like the permissions are too tight? I’ll want to double-check all this once the site is uploaded, so for future reference, please tell me now what Permission (755 or whatever) for the plugins directory *should* be.

    I appreciate the help.

    Hey @bothhands,

With Windows it should be less restrictive I would check to make sure the read-only flag is unchecked for the plugins directory and recursively for the duplicator dir. I have a copy of xampp installed as well and didn’t see any issues with a default install. I have however changed my doc root from the xampp dir to a different drive. Here is a thread that might help: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9349469/changing-php-write-permissions-in-xampp-on-windows-7

Thanks for the reply, Cory ==

FWIW and FYI re. READ ONLY: Apparently the only way to remove Read Only from a folder in Win7 is via a DOS-style Command Prompt. Sheesh. I doubt anybody’s going to all that trouble when running your excellent plugin in Xampp.

You were right. Read Only *is* set ON for my Plugins folder, but I was not able to switch it off and ultimately learned “the awful truth” at this URL:
