• I have a version of WP installed on a windows2003 server. I am new to using a windows server and I am really hating it.

I am not sure about setting the permissions can you even CHMOD on a windows server?

Regardless I started the install and it kept on telling me that it could not create a config file. I manually created one and had success.

The program was installed and I was using WP. I have been trying to install themes. and I get a PHP error that it can’t create a temp file. Then I tried to upload the theme. and I get an can’t create a upload folder.

I have check the permissions and the wp_content folder is 777.

I also just tried to add content (an image) and the upload started to show the progress bar, however at the end I got this:

image.png has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory D:\FTP\user\Htdocs\wordpress/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Has anyone got any suggestions for a newbie to both WP and MS server?
