Unable to Create New Gallery v1.9.12 and WP 3.5.1
-
Hello
I have scrolled through the forum posts and have seen a few issues with not being able to create a new gallery. I am trying out NextGEN Gallery and have run into this issue as well.
I’m running a fresh installation of WordPress 3.5.1 installed on IIS 7.0 on my own locally hosted Windows 2008 server. It was installed from Web PI. All of my packages SQL, PHP are up to date. I’m using the built in Twenty Twelve theme (Tried the Twenty Eleven theme as well). What I have seen when I create a new gallery, I get the “wp-content/gallery/ is not writable” error. When I look at my folder structure, there is no “gallery” folder under “wp-content”. Next step, I manually create the folder. Then I go back into WP admin and try again to create a new gallery called “Killarney”. This time I get a message “Directory wp-content/gallery/killarney” is not writable”. OK fine I say…. but when I go back into my folders, I see something weird. It appears that NextGEN has appended some additional path info when it created my gallery.
The best way to explain this is describe my setup. I run my web site on a NAS box called “HOMENETNAS”. The path to my web site is “HOMENETNAS\amphotography”. from there, I have all my WP files. NextGEN should be creating a folder structure “\\HOMENETNAS\amphotography\wp-content\gallery” Instead, I’m getting “\\HOMENETNAS\amphotography\HOMENETNAS\AMPHOTOGRAPHY\wp-content\gallery”.
I’m open to suggestions on how to correct this. Or let me know if addition info would help. NextGEN looks like a really cool plug in and I’m happy to help with improving it.
Thanks
