Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/05

  • Hello, I just installed WordPress on a VPS that I recently got. When I try to install a theme, I get this error: Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/05

    I am running CentOS 5.9. I’ve tried chown -R apache:apache /home/wordpress/wp-content but still get the issue.

    Anyone know how I can fix this?

  • Are you sure apache in Centos 5 Run as apache for both user and group? I have Debian installed in my server and its default apahce user and group is www-data.
    Also did you check the folder permissions (chmod) for files and folders?
