• Trying to upload pictures in a new wordpress site, hosted by godaddy. I consistently get an error message that says: Unable to create directory uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I’ve checked that cPanel permissions for wp-content/uploads set to 775.

Anyone know what might be wrong? I’m super new at this. Thanks!

    – Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 777.
Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again (very important for security reasons!) and check that everything still works OK

Just tried this. Still getting the same message. Any other ideas?

I also tried uploading a picture file into the uploads folder on cPanel, and am unable to access it via WordPress dashboard. The picture is there on cPanel in wp-content/uploads/2017/06

I would contact the hosting provider and discuss the issue with them.
