Unable to create a new project

I’m running into issues getting started with this plug-in. I wanted to test it out on our staging site before moving it live, but when I attempt to create my first project, I get the “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” error message.

Naturally I’m logging in as an administrator, and we don’t have any restrictions on admins built into our site. I’m simply flat-out unable to create my first project. Have you seen this happen before, and how do you work around it?
