    Hello team,
I have installed a free version of imagify on my wordpress test installation. After tying several options, I could not figure out any <picture> tag being replaced or .WEBP extension being shown on my website.

I have also checked the image individually by adding <filename> dot WEBP after the path and it was showing in the browser on a new window.

Is there any way you can help me resolve this issue.

Update : I disabled the WP Rocket plugin and it started showing up the WebP extension with <picture> tag. But, I need WP Rocket. What should I do to allow acception.

    Hi @shawn007!

This is Joseph from Imagify, and I’ll gladly assist you here!

I’m really sorry you’re having issues with this!

There are certain situations where the “Use <picture> tags” option will not work, unfortunately. I’ve never seen a case where WP Rocket stopped the “Use <picture> tags” option from working, though.

I’m curious, do you have WP Rocket’s “Enable WebP cache” option enabled? You should only be allowed to have either this option or one of Imagify’s options for WebP display to be enabled at the same time, so that could be causing the “Use <picture> tags” option to not take effect while WP Rocket is enabled.

Also, if you’re testing for WebP images with WP Rocket’s “Enable WebP cache” option enabled while you’re logged in, you won’t see them because you won’t be getting cached pages. You could try activating WP Rocket (and the Enable WebP cache options) and then use a different browser to test for WebP image display (or log out of your WP Admin while testing).

If that doesn’t work, you can also try switching to the “Use rewrite rules” option in your Imagify plugin settings page as long as you don’t use a CDN, Cloudflare, or certain cache services like Varnish (as these conflict and may cause image display issues, especially in Safari browsers).

It’s worth noting that using the rewrite rules option will result in your HTML code appearing to display the JPG or PNG versions of images, though the rewrite rules work to ensure the WebP images are actually being served to users’ browsers. You can follow this guide for ensuring WebP images are being served: https://imagify.io/documentation/how-to-check-if-webp-image-is-displayed-on-your-site/.

Please let me know how this works for you, and I am happy to be of further assistance if needed!

    Best regards,
    Joseph

Looks like some MIME Issue on my server end. I have tried all option but it did not work. So, I uninstalled the plugin.
