    Using Postie 1.9.52, am unable to connect to imap server. The debug just says there was a problem connecting to the server. I dug around in dovecot’s server logs for both imap and pop3 (I tried connecting to both), and the error message I get is:

    TLS handshaking: SSL_accept() failed: error:14209102:SSL routines:tls_early_post_process_client_hello:unsupported protocol

    What googling I have done suggests that my server is requiring a level of TLS higher that what postie is trying to use. My server does require TLSv1.2.

    Can you confirm whether that is correct? If it is, is there a way to get postie to come up to this level?

    If this is not correct, what would you suggest I try?

    Thanks,
    David

    Postie relies on the version of openssl that is included with your version of PHP/operating system. Sounds like you need to upgrade.

    Thank you, @wayneallen-1, armed with the knowledge that postie was relying upon the web server’s openssl, I upgraded it and that solved the whole thing.

    Again, thanks (and thanks for such a great plugin)!
