Unable to Connect After Installing Plugin

After installing the plugin, I try to connect my mailchimp account via the settings and I get an error:

POST to https://joannapearl.com/index.php?mcsf_action=authorized&salt=a49f0220daca30b3ee38c14f2015d1e5&user_id=1 failed: couldn’t connect to host

https://sopresto.socialize-this.com/mailchimp/confirm?code=26eb507e9ef82e08d13c4046d63c420aI am using the latest Firefox browser for this. Not sure what the issue is. I have tried several times without success and always the same error.
