    Hi there,

    We are unable to confirm store requirements in de 3th step of the setup. All store information is filled in Woocommerce. In the logs we also see the error:

    2023-10-19T06:50:58+00:00 ERROR Automattic\WooCommerce\GoogleListingsAndAds\API\Google\Merchant::update_account {
      "error": {
        "code": 400,
        "message": "[account.businessIdentity] The given merchant does not meet requirements for assigning BusinessIdentity.",
        "errors": [
          {
            "message": "[account.businessIdentity] The given merchant does not meet requirements for assigning BusinessIdentity.",
            "domain": "global",
            "reason": "invalid"
          }
        ]
      }
    }

    We also tried to disconnect en connect our Google and Google MC account through the hidden connecting page in Woocommerce.

    Here is also and screenshot of the error: https://ibb.co/ckC0Nhb

    Any ideas what might cause this issue or how to fix this?

  • I get exactly the same. Have uninstalled plugin multiple times. But, this plugin doesn’t appear to clean-up after itself at all?! So, uninstalling is pointless. Has not deleted the data, let alone the options/variables!

    Tried disconnecting from Google Account and reconnecting. Created and deleted Merchant Centre Accounts twice and have tried the “create new account” option. Also tried deleting all “gla_” editable values in /options.php (because uninstalling the plugin doesn’t!).

    What else can I possibly do to resolve this?

    (btw, If this is an official Google or WooCommerce production, I’m shocked)

    Have you found this page @kingcrows ?

    YOURDOMAIN.COM/wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page

    You can test and manually edit connection on that page, maybe?

    Okay, so on page:

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page

    I have confirmed:

    1. WCS Connection is okay,

    2. Test Authenticated WCS Request under Jetpack completed successfully

    3. Correct Google Account shows “status”:”connected”

    4. MC Connection Status returns Response: { “id”: 5295149XXX, “status”: “connected” }

    But, still I cannot get past step 3, because I get “Unable to update your contact details” error.

    What next?

    The url you mentioned is the “hidden” url i mentioned in de begin post ?? to check the connection. Both are connected!

    I’m still getting the same error, “unable to update your contact details”…

    Sorry – infuriating isn’t it! I’ve tested all connections and cleared the status caches. I’ve disconnected and reconnected MC on that page too. No success. All I can think of is that I “claimed” the website in Merchant Centre not in the plugin? But I’ve tried using the “Claim website” and “Claim overwrite” buttons with no success. I’m shocked that an “official” plugin doesn’t clear up behind itself on uninstall either.

    it suddenly solved by itself guys, just retry it.

    it works for me now! Don’t know if it’s the time or that I switched my Merchant account back to classic mode instead of merchant next…

    Nope – it was just time. I refreshed this thread on the off-chance there was new advice. I saw @cangevendi’s post, so I tried hitting the button again and it worked!

    Hello @kingcrows and @stevesugden,

    The error message you’re encountering typically indicates that there is a discrepancy between the business information you’ve provided in WooCommerce and what Google Merchant Center is expecting. This can occur due to a variety of reasons, such as an incorrect or missing business address, phone number, or other required fields.

    However, I see that you’ve already checked all the store information and tried disconnecting and reconnecting your Google accounts, which are the usual troubleshooting steps for this issue. I appreciate your patience and the effort you’ve put into trying to resolve this issue.

    As @cangevendi and you have mentioned, the issue seems to have resolved itself over time. This can sometimes happen as Google periodically updates its systems and there might be a delay in reflecting the changes on your end.

    If the issue reoccurs, I would recommend checking if your Google Merchant Center account is in classic mode, as you’ve mentioned that switching back to it seemed to have helped. Also, ensure that all the required business information is filled out correctly in both WooCommerce and Google Merchant Center.

    Meanwhile, I will be marking this thread as resolved.

    Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any other questions or run into any other issues, please don’t hesitate to create a new topic here.
