Unable to comment using G due to scrolling

Perhaps due to a recent update by Google Plus (G+) I’m unable to comment on G+ shares.
The issue is that the G+ UI is bigger than the screen, and the ‘Comment/Submit’ button is always pushed below the fold. The only way to comment is to remove the photo preview, which isn’t very obvious to a non-technical user and just makes the whole functionality seem broken.
