• For some reason, when I edit a user’s profile, I don’t have an option to change their user role. Is there a setting somewhere that would prevent that from showing as an option.

  • The selection for the role is not available if

    • it is the own profile
    • the view is the network management of a multisite
    • the user you want to edit has the permission to do so as well

    What role does the user you want to edit currently have?
    And is it a multisite or single installation?

    I was trying to set up another admin as a network admin, but it appears we’re already “super admins,” so I guess that’s why I didn’t see it as an option.

    Yes, that is probably exactly the reason.
