Unable to change to any new theme

  • I’m having an issue with my site where I can’t change to a new theme. I’m currently using a custom theme and when I try to activate any new theme I download, all I see is a blank white page. The only themes that I can see are my current theme, and the default wordpress themes.

    Even if I click “preview” on the default classic wordpress themes, the preview shows me my current theme.

    I’ve tried several new themes and nothing works.

    I really don’t know where to go or what to do, I’m pretty new to this.

    Any simplified advice would be appreciated.

  • Try activating the default theme and then previewing other themes. It could be your current theme that’s the problem.

    Ok so I’m still stuck here.

    Any theme I try aside from my current theme, or the 2 default themes when i click activate I just get a blank white screen.

    I’ve reinstalled the 2.9.1 Should I go back to an old version?

    I’ve deactivated all plugins.

    I’ve read tons of other posts, but can’t seem to find the right answer.

    Also, I want to get rid of the outer scrolling page, so that the only page displayed is the Blog.

    I’ve been battling this for days, if anyone can please help me out I’ll be your best friend.
