Unable to change post author

  • I’m unable to change posts authors nor can I select any author when I want to publish a new post!

    I’ve tryied al the suggestions with creating a new admin than downgrading the current admin etc etc, and no results!

    I mention that in the screen option i can select whether to show the “Post Author” tab, but when i click on it wont open. There are meany users with Auhor roles so this is not a problem. Also if i try to edit a post in quick mode, the section of the Author is just empty – grayed out – no dropdown menu, nothing!
    What can i do? Please help!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

    I did as u suggested, deactivated all the plug-ins – no result, changed the theme, no result! I think it is related to the wordpress script and has nothing to do with the theme, it used to work in the past.
    Any other suggestions!?
