Unable to change hero title and subtitle text

  • I can’t change the “If oportunity doesn’t knock, build a door” (even the spelling of oportunity is wrong. What a joke!

    It says “You can set this subtitle from the customizer” So where EXACTLY in customizer do I change it?

    ?You can change the texts by simply clicking on them and typing your desired words in the Customizer.

    Nope, it doesn’t work. Everything else is clickable & editable in Customizer EXCEPT the hero title & subtitle.

    Can you please try to de-activate all plugins except the Mesmerize Companion and re-check your page with the issue?

    This seems to be a plugin related issue.

    I was having this same issue.

    I could edit the text on old slides, but new ones wouldn’t edit. I disabled my plugins one by one and was still occurring.

    However, one of my hero images was a video. When I deleted that one, the problem stopped.

    I think I got the solution.

    You must go to
    Dashboard -> appereance -> theme editor -> inc -> header options -> content options -> title.php

    And delete this line:
    $companion = apply_filters(‘mesmerize_is_companion_installed’, false);

    Then save the file and the “options” button should appear.
    Remember to to the backup first!!

    Delete the same line in:
    Dashboard -> appereance -> theme editor -> inc -> header options -> content options -> subtitle.php
