After transferring my site from staging to the live server, I can no longer set the date of events. I can create the event and it shows in the backend, but the date defaults to the current day’s date. It also keeps updating to the current date, so tomorrow the date will show tomorrow’s date and so on.
The event will not show on the front end either. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin, but I’m afraid to switch themes and/or deactivate other plugins as this is a massive site that I can’t afford to mess up and have to spend hours getting everything back to normal should it get messed up.

Ok, so I switched to the 2021 theme and was able to set the date of an event. Switched back to my main theme (Divi) and the event is showing on the frontend, but now am unable to set the date again. Any ideas where to begin?

    Hey @thatothermatt

    Thank you for reaching out.

I am sorry to hear you are dealing with that issue.

It’s hard to say for sure what the issue is. There is no known conflict with Divi itself (as long as you have the very latest version of everything, of course).

But it does sound like it could be a conflict with another plugin or something that went wrong during your migration.

There are three things worth trying out:

    1. Try a fresh install on the live server (maybe a subdirectory) and block search engines. If you install Divi + The Events Calendar, are you able to add events to your liking?
    2. Go through our complete testing for conflicts procedure
    3. Double check your permalinks structure and date/time settings in wp-admin > general AND Events > Settings > Display to see that they match

Let us know how that goes,
    Geoff

    @geoffbel
Thanks for the suggestions! I tried a fresh install on the live server and it works perfectly. I’ve been through the conflicts procedure and double checked the date/time settings.
Unfortunately I’m at a point that I may need to find a different calendar plugin. I hate to do that as I’ve used TEC on many sites for many years.
    Any other suggestions?

    Hey @thatothermatt

    Yikes! The plot thickens ??
I am really sorry to hear that you are looking at another calendar plugin as a result.

For what it’s worth, I would have recommended looking at any caching plugins settings (adding exceptions for calendar-related pages).

Since you are migrating to a live server, I am assuming that all settings have simply been cloned in the process. But in case that is not the case, one last setting that might be worth your while is Events > Settings > General and trying to switch the timezone setting.

Last but not least, our premium plugins customers do get premium support which might have been useful in this case.

    Best of success!
