    Hi,
I got an order which is “On hold” (yellow), and when I hover my mouse over it I see a text box saying Payment authorized. Change payment status to processing or complete to capture funds. Order status changed from Pending payment to On hold.

I click it and I see a “status” dropdown menu on the next page. No matter what I choose there, processing or complete and I update the page, it won’t save/change. When I go back to the orders page it’s still “On hold” and everything else is the same as well.

I don’t seem to have a separate Paypal plugin installed, I only see “PayPal Standard – PayPal” on Woocommerce > Settings > Payments page. I had set it up months ago, all the API credentials and everything seem to be in order.
I see the funds on my PayPal account (pending funds), but I cannot capture the funds.

    Hi there! ??

This note indicates that the payment has been authorized and that the shop administrator is now able to capture it from the PayPal dashboard.

The status of the order has changed from “Pending Payment” to “On Hold” to differentiate it from the orders that are still pending for its payment (for example if they use bank transfer).

At first sight, everything seems ok, so you can just go ahead and capture this payment.

Could you please ensure that your Payment Action is set to “Capture” in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal?

I checked on PayPal, it says the status is “On Hold” and I’m unable to find any links or buttons that could be related to capturing the payment.

Hmm… My Payment Action is set to “Authorize” in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal. Is that the problem? How can I capture the payment? Just by changing that setting?

Thank you for your help! ??

You should be able to capture funds from the Order Details page. You would just need to change the payment status from On Hold to Processing or Complete to accomplish this. Can you try that and see if it works?

    Cheers! ??
