  • Hi @owolter,

Please ensure that the LinkedIn app is approved and that all three permissions/products are correctly added to the app. You can refer to this image for guidance:https://help.xyzscripts.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/3ln-dev-products.png.

The “scope error” occurs when the app doesn’t have the necessary permissions. If you don’t want to auto-post to the company, please select “V2 API usage” as “Own app – Basic profile fields only.” Otherwise, double-check that you are using an approved app and verify the settings as well. I hope this information helps.

Hey @anjali94, thanks for your reply. I followed the guide exactly when setting up the app originally.

Here’s a screenshot showing the three products available. Note that the only difference between your screenshot and mine is that my “Sign In with LinkedIn” says “Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect”. There is no non-OpenID Connection version available to add.

Could this be the difference? Maybe creating an app that works with your plugin is no longer possible?

    Hello @owolter ,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We can confirm that old apps will still have the option to “Sign in with LinkedIn,” while for new apps, this feature will not be available.

If you have any existing old apps, please proceed with using “Sign in with LinkedIn” as usual. In the meantime, you can also take advantage of smapsolutions’ free trial for 30 days, which will work without any issues.

We are actively working on releasing a new version with the necessary changes as soon as possible. Once again, thank you for your understanding and patience.

    Best regards,
    Anjali

    Hello @owolter ,
Latest version now supports OpenID Connect. To take advantage of this feature, please update to the latest version. If you encounter any issues, please let us know.
