• This has been sitting in my plugins folder since install some months ago. I cannot authorise the installation. I have a WordPress account, but I keep getting this error.

    Invalid email or username

I have tried resetting and changing my WordPress password but with the same result.

    Hi there,

The Jetpack plugin requires you to connect to a WordPress.com account to be fully activated.

To do so, you will have to create a WordPress.com account here:
    https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

If you had previously created an account, but forgot the password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here:
    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure you read it for important instructions. If you don’t receive the email right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation email can get caught in them sometimes.

Please note that WordPress.com accounts are different from the account you use to administrate your blog. WordPress.com and self-hosted blogs available through www.remarpro.com are two different entities.
Please check out the following links to learn the differences.

I hope this helps. Please get in touch again if you have any more questions.

Obviously that doesn’t help Carolyn. I have a working WordPress account, or I could not log into the forums to post a support, or reply

You’re logged into the www.remarpro.com support forums, which is completely unrelated to WordPress.com.

To clarify, WordPress.com and www.remarpro.com are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs – including the features that Jetpack provides. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog.

www.remarpro.com is a software for self-hosted sites. With www.remarpro.com, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins – including installing Jetpack.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and www.remarpro.com:

As I indicated in my first reply, you need a WordPress.com user account in order to connect Jetpack. Let me know if you need further clarification and I’ll be happy to answer any questions.
