Hello, I am unable to get the form on the site to work/add email addresses to our list in Constant Contact. The form being tested is saying there is no associated lists but I do not want to give people filling out the form an option to choose between forms, but to be added to one specific list. Thanks in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, I meant to say “option to choose between lists”. That’s all I am seeing in the form that I created vs. the general settings where I’ve chosen the list that I want to use that is already in CC.

Since it’s seemed to work previously for some, can you visit your lists page and click “Sync” up at the top to force run a sync process. We can help re-check the form once that’s been done to see if it helped at all.

Thank you, I have gone ahead and synched the lists. However, I am noticing that the specific list that we want to use for the site/blog subscriptions (2021_EMS_Client_Newsletter) is stuck in draft mode. Not sure if that will affect testing or anything. I will keep my eyes peeled for updates/how to troubleshoot further.

I’m assuming you mean the post we create to store that list information? Not sure lists in constantcontact.com can be marked as draft ??

Should be able to move it to published status.

Correct! It’s in WP/within the plugin I believe. It’s not moving to published even after I hit publish, the publication date is even yesterday’s date and it’s still a draft. Could this have to do with the limit of 100 lists being displayed in WP? We have well over 100 lists so I am not sure how to troubleshoot that.

Also, when testing the form, I am still getting this message even though we don’t want people to choose from a list, but just to be added to the list mentioned above:

“Please select at least one list to subscribe to.”

Hmm. The ability to publish shouldn’t be a limited factor by the 100 list cap detail.

Any chance you’d be willing to test, temporarily with a different list to add to? You can switch it back right away after we at least confirm we can get a list associated first.

    Sure,

I am trying to use a pre-existing list in CC called “ems_newsletter_051320” to test/point to in WP. The form now says “no associated list” and when trying to fill out the live form, I’m still seeing the “Please select at least one list to subscribe to.” error. Do I need to create a new list to add to in WP and synch that to CC instead of pointing to an existing on in CC?

My initial suggestion was just a different existing list that’s been sync’d already and is in published state within your WP install, given the 100 cap, etc.

I was going to do a test submission to that one, and then we could re-change back to the intended list.

Sounds good, I have used “2020.03.05_EMS Cost Survey_Pre-Webinar Email” as a list so that you can test when you get the chance.

FYI I tested using that list and it seems like it worked for me!

Since you gave it a go yourself, and had success, I think we’re probably good for the first parts. The real question left is why is the published status not persisting.

Is the actually intended list showing up in the admin where you can select it? Let’s try to get it switched back to your intended list.

    Thread Starter jhoffmanpcg

    (@jhoffmanpcg)

Ok, I’ve switched back to the desired list in the settings section (under the general tab/advanced opt-in) and have also associated the same list with the form as well.

Hmm. Back to no list associated on the frontend.

Are you willing to take this to private support so that we can dig in to things deeper than we can on the public forum here?

    (@jhoffmanpcg)

Yes I am definitely interested in that, please keep me posted.
