Unable to add some SPECIFIC TAGS while publishing posts

  • Hello,

    I encountered a strange case scenario where we are unable to add only some specific tags in the editor while creating a new post.

    The same is not possible from the QUICK EDIT window as well.

    For Ex. If we have the following tags;
    Cricket
    Cricket Player
    Cricket News
    Cricket Match

    We are able to add everything except “Cricket”.
    What might be the reason? Could you please help to fix this?

  • How many tags are currently in the project?

    I only ask because I suspect that, for performance reasons, existing limits may have been reached.

    Try to add tag “Cricket” using WP Dashboard menu Posts->Tags, then select the tag in your post.

    There are around 4-5 tags presently.

    Hi @golosins , The tag “CRICKET” is already added using WP Dashboard, It already has some 400+ posts published, But now suddenly we cant add it to any other posts.

    That is the issue!

    I can’t understand this at all in my case. My advice would therefore be:

    Is there an error on the server side during the assignment? A look at the error log should help. Your hosting support can help you with this.

    Deactivate all plugins – does it work then? If so, it is due to one of the plugins used. You can find out which one it is by reactivating it individually.

    It may also be due to the theme. You could test this by changing to a standard theme. If it then works, it is your actual theme.
