Unable to add products in the desirable category with WooCommerce

1. I am using the Sinatra theme for listing my products in the shop and created the desired categories after editing the default categories provided by the theme.

2. After that I installed the Woocommerce Plugin and now trying to add products in the desired categories I created in the first step.

3. But when I am trying to add products in WooCommerce – Products – Categories, I don’t see the categories that I have created in the backend so that I can place them in the appropriate category and instead, it automatically directly gets listed to the shop page.

4. Even after uploading the images and content, I can see the content but not the images in the shop page as well.

How will I be able to see the same categories in the backend of WooCommerce, that I created in the fronted and add products easily in the desired location?
