    Using the default theme (Twenty Twenty v2.0) with only WooCommerce 6.5.1 and Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway 2.6.4 active, I am unable to add a new credit card via My Account > Payment Methods > Add payment method. I have tried with three credit cards (nicknamed CFV, HRV, and ARV), and here are the responses I got:

    CFV: Status code 2014: Processor Declined - Fraud Suspected
    HRV: Status code avs: Gateway Rejected: avs
    ARV: Status code avs: Gateway Rejected: avs

    I then tried each card again and each time I got the same error response:

    Status code risk_threshold: Gateway Rejected: risk_threshold

    In Safari’s browser console, I see a Javascript error:

    XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://client-analytics.braintreegateway.com/y94ybz8hqqrttwsk due to access control checks.

    I tried in an Incognito Chrome browser (v102.0.5005.61) window after pausing Cloudflare, same problem, but no Javascript errors in the console. I’m running macOS 12.4.

    This was reported to me because it happened to two other people using their own accounts, devices, and internet connections. What’s going on?

    Hi there,

    Status code risk_threshold: Gateway Rejected: risk_threshold

    Looking at the reason for this error on the PayPal document here:

    https://developer.paypal.com/braintree/articles/guides/fraud-tools/basic/risk-threshold-rules

    This issue occurs when a customer is adding a lot of new cards to their account, this can be an indicator of a carding attack. Braintree will start rejecting verifications from the same customer when 7 or more have been attempted in a 15-minute window.

    Can you please try adding a card after some time and let us know if you are still facing this issue?
