Unable to add new user

    We are unable to add a new user as editor to our blog. User never receives confirmation email from WordPress. We have checked spam folders and checked with IT to make sure the email is not being held up anywhere.

    Others seem to have problem but we have been unable to fix so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It could be that php mail function is not active on your server … check with the host to see if that is the case.

    Thank you @jeffmcnear, I will ask. Not sure if it matters, but we are also not able to receive the confirmation email from WordPress when sending to other email addresses (gmail, hotmail, etc.); would that make sense if the php mail function is not active on the server?

    Could there be a work around? The concern would be that the host declines request to activate the php mail function.

    Yes that is pretty much a confirmation. Talk to your host, if that doesn’t work you could try something like this: https://wpforms.com/how-to-send-wordpress-emails-with-mailgun/
